How Haiti Captured Jay’s Heart
I’m just a guy from Orange County who stumbled into Haiti in the middle of the 2010 earthquake relief… and never really came back the same. I thought I was flying in to help for a few weeks. Instead, God wrecked my heart in the best way possible. I met a people so strong, so full of dignity, so hungry for hope — and I knew I couldn’t just walk away.
The call was simple and loud: Bring hope. Be hope. Give hope.
That was it. No grand plan. No strategy deck. Just obedience.
From Earthquake Relief to 8 Thriving Churches
Those early days were raw and simple. Sleeping wherever we could, helping whoever was right in front of us, asking Jesus to show us what to do next. Out of that little flicker, God sparked something bigger — and Plen Fleri was born.
Vision Church Haiti – 8 Thriving Churches
Over the years, the Lord has built a family of incredible Haitian leaders around us. Pastor Rosinel leads our team on the ground with courage and humility, and he’s surrounded by men and women who love their communities fiercely. Together, we’ve watched hope spread through eight thriving Vision Churches. We’ve seen people come to Christ, leaders rise up, and entire neighborhoods begin to believe that their story isn’t over.
Education Changing Futures
Education has become one of our greatest tools for lifting people out of survival mode. Vision School, the Vision Adult Sewing School, and even college scholarships for our primary school teachers — these have opened doors that once felt impossible.
Jobs, Dignity and Economic Hope
And then there’s the heartbeat behind it all: helping Haitians build a future with their own hands. Plen Fleri has launched small and medium-sized businesses that create jobs, fuel dignity, and support the work of Vision Church Haiti. When the average person in these communities earns only $3–$5 a day, every opportunity matters. Every job matters. Every spark of hope matters.
Hope for Haiti’s Future
We believe the church should be a place where people flourish — spiritually, emotionally, financially, and educationally. Vision Church Haiti is doing that every single day. And I’m just grateful the Lord lets us be a small part of His story here.
